"Madame Alford first introduced me to international experiences in French class in high school. My family had never traveled abroad but Madame encouraged me to study French and develop my skills. Her encouragement gave me the confidence to travel abroad on my own for the first time when I was 19. That very first time, I ordered a cafe eclair using my French and I've never looked back. I've learned about the francophone world through study and travel in France, Canada, Morocco, and Mali, and keep learning through travel, friendships, music, books – the list goes on! I'm glad that I get to work with students as they embark on similar experiences."
