"My journey is very different because I started my college from China and worked 5 years in Australia, and after so many years, I came to the U.S. I got my master's degree in New York. And now I do this kind of work supporting international students at Tulane. And I paid everything for myself after 14 years of saving. I paid for everything from my pocket.

It has made me a more inclusive person. Whenever I see something new, the first thing that comes to my mind, I'll be like, "Oh, let me just get to know that first." You know, I wouldn't give an early judgment or prejudgment or anything. I'll just be like, "Oh, it's interesting. Let me just get to learn about that.”

Change, it's not like it comes in one day. Right? It's little by little. From every little thing that I have learned, I feel I'm more open to people and also I'm more open to different types of cultures. I've learned how to actually look at things in a more comprehensive way, not just based on what I know. I want to explore another side, the unknown side. That's very important. "
