I think one of the most important reasons is transcending borders: social, political, cultural borders. Sometimes international peace and cooperation is only strengthened if we transcend and look at others without a preconditioned overlay. So apart from access to high-quality education and professional exposure -- the aforementioned is the primary reason I think international education is important.
