International student success at Tulane University begins with OISS Orientation!  It is designed to help you:

During your orientation with the Tulane School of Law, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) will provide you with important information you need to maintain your immigration status and learn about U.S. culture.  A schedule will be posted once it becomes available.

Managing ones finances is not easy.  Doing so in another country can be challenging.  Come learn how to create a monthly budget, plan for savings, manage having a credit card, establish a credit history and protect your accounts.



Join the Office of International Students & Scholars and Office of Multicultural Affairs this April for our annual International Food & Music Festival! There will be food from all around the world, music performances by local bands as well as students, and cultural displays and activities! 

Volunteers needed! RSVP if you'd like to perform, host a cultural booth, demonstrate/be a storyteller, or volunteer in any of the many different positions.

Please join us for an information session featuring a representative from the law firm of Ware Immigration and Ms. Mathieu from the Office of the General Counsel at Tulane University. 

Session 1 (After H-1B): 3:00 - 4:00 PM

Learn about immigration options after H-1B including permanent residence and other visa options. This session is geared toward academic immigration options post H-1B, but it will also include some discussion of other immigration options outside of the academic realm.

Session 2 (After OPT): 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Join the OISS for a wonderful evening filled with music and fun! The Ogden Museum of Southern Art hosts a night of extended hours and entertainment every week.

Peruse the exhibits or enjoy music from a local jazz band!

Join our first career lab for international students to learn about and begin utilizing different career development resources. This will be an interactive session will learn tips and tricks for using the platforms and building your own profiles.  Resources used:

Join OISS staff and members of the Tulane Police Department for an info session about bike and road safety, tips on using the Tulane Shuttles, and public transportation here in New Orleans.  As international students and scholars, some of the laws and customs regarding road safety might be different than where you are from/used to, and this is a great opportunity to learn and ask questions about being safe while getting around, and also enjoy some pizza!
