English for Academic and Professional Purposes: EAPP is committed to excellence in teaching and learning. We have moved to online teaching and are monitoring developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19).


This section contains important information for Tulane departments and admissions offices on how to host students, host visiting scholars, sponsor H-1B employees and bring special international groups to campus. Departments wishing to sponsor a Tulane employee for employment-based Permanent Residency must should contact Tulane University General Counsel.

When bringing foreign nationals to campus, it is strongly recommended for Tulane Departments to contact OISS as early in the process as possible.

If you are planning to pay a visa holder a prize or stipend of any kind, please make sure you familiarize yourself with the IRS tax assessment guidelines, the rates of which may be different than those for US citizens. For more information on current tax regulations governing the payment of foreign nationals, please contact the International Tax Office (ITO).
