OISS F-1 Graduate Degree-Seeking Student Orientation

International student success at Tulane University begins with OISS Orientation!  It is designed to help you:

  • Adjust to academic and social life at Tulane;
  • Comply with government regulations pertaining to your stay in the U.S;
  • Learning about on and off campus resources and support services;
  • Learn how to navigate the campus;
  • Become comfortable with the local community and U.S. culture; and
  • Meet people and make friends from around the world.    

Studies show the benefits of participating in orientation programs.  Faculty members and advisors see a marked difference in the preparedness and success of students who have participated in orientation.

Monday, August 16

New F-1 Graduate Student OISS Orientation

Time: 2:00- 5:00 PM

Location: Freeman Auditorium, Woldenberg Art Complex

During OISS orientation you will get to meet the staff of the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS). They will share important immigration information.  They will also explain further opportunities and resources for you to be prepared to succeed academically and socially, and learn about U.S. culture.

Location: Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life

Join us for a reception to welcome new graduate, professional, and international students to Tulane.  Get to know our staff, meet other new students. learn about various organizations, affinity groups, and offices on campus
