Keqi grew up in Dalian, a seaside city in the northern part of China. She received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Heilongiiang University and then worked at Harbin TV and Radio Station as an anchorwoman before she immigrated to the United States in 1998.
Her most recent professional position was retail branch manager at the MIT Credit Union, where she acquired comprehensive financial and banking knowledge. She played a key role in the credit union’s expansion, retail branch transformation, customer loyalty program. As well as providing financial services and financial literacy to the MIT community, including international students and scholars from over 90 countries.
Keqi is extremely curious about the interplay of cultures and the personal engagement in a multi-cultural environment. She first came to New Orleans for the 2014 Jazz and Heritage Festival, falling in love with the city, its complex history and its rich tradition of culture, music, and food. She recently relocated to New Orleans.
