Ezra Spira-Cohen is a PhD Candidate in Tulane's Political Science Department, where he teaches and studies Latin American Politics, Comparative Politics, and Brazilian Land Policy. Ezra has worked in the field of international education as an On-site Program Coordinator with CISabroad in Brazil. In college he studied abroad in Cordoba, Spain and in Santiago, Chile where he studied Spanish language and Human Rights. After college, he moved to Brazil to teach English, dance, and earned a Master's in Sociology from Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro. Ezra joins the Office of Study Abroad as a Research Assistant, collaborating on projects and working with data and reporting on study abroad at Tulane. He is an advocate of international education, language study and all forms of intercultural exchange. He plays percussion in a local samba band and spends his free time exploring the immense and growing cultural diversity of New Orleans.
