Awarded in partnership with the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching and Newcomb-Tulane College, these grants provide faculty with the means to infuse their curriculum with a new or enhanced global perspective. More details can be found on the Call for Applications.
Purpose: Engaged learning is when students experience themselves not as passive recipients of information delivered by experts, but as active participants both in the classroom and in the world. Faculty play a large role in creating an environment in which globally engaged experiences can take place. Global Classroom Grants, awarded in partnership with CELT, Newcomb Tulane College and the Center for Global Education, are designed to provide faculty with the means to infuse their curriculum with a new or enhanced global perspective by defraying the cost of faculty development in the area of global education and/or internationalizing classroom curriculum.
These dollars can be used for the following expenses:
- Transportation, registration and accommodations to participate in a CIEE International Faculty Development Seminar, an SIT Study Abroad or other approved international faculty development opportunity
- To defray the costs of a pre-planning trip necessary to take students on an international field work or study abroad experience related to classroom curriculum
