How to Apply to Study Abroad
You may apply to only one program, so please be thoughtful in your choice.

Application & Deadlines
There are two applications to study abroad: the Tulane online application and the Program application.
The Tulane Application is available on-line only. To apply for a program, go to tulane.studioabroad.com, then click Programs/Apply on the top left-hand side. Search for your program. Once you find the program you are interested in click on it. Read about the program. Press apply once your are sure of the program you one to study on. This will bring you to the online application. Do not forget to fill in all the emails you need for recommendations and assessment forms. If you have any questions contact the Office of Study Abroad 504-865-5339.
The Program (Secondary) Application
Almost every program has a secondary application (exceptions are noted below*). These applications are available on the program or university’s admissions web site. In the case that the program provides recommendation forms, you should supply them to your recommenders and ask that they complete those forms. If the program requires more than two letters of recommendation, you should comply with that request.
Keep in mind that you must submit two (2) letters of recommendation to the Office of Study Abroad as well. The letters can be copies of the forms completed by your recommenders for the program. Make sure to request that your recommenders put them into separate sealed envelopes.
These programs have Paper Applications which should be downloaded from the program web site, completed and submitted to the Center for Global Education with the Tulane Application by the Tulane application Deadline:
All Junior Year Abroad in United Kingdom and Ireland
Independent Scholar Option (ISO)
Junior Year Abroad in Jena at Friedrich Schiller Universitaet
Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus, Germany
Lyon I & II, Lyon, France
CERGE-IE Program at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic
For the following programs, submit Applications Online, and submit supplemental documents to the CGE with the Tulane application by the Tulane application deadline:
CIEE (Submit the Home School Nomination Form, Letters of Recommendation and all University apps to the CGE with the Tulane Application)
IES Abroad (submit the IES Home School Nomination Form and the IES Foreign Language Evaluation to the CGE with the Tulane Application)
School for International Training (SIT), submit a copy of the ISP proposal with the Tulane application; Dr. Molly Travis is the advisor for the ISP Programs. email@example.com to set up an appointment.

After the Application Deadline, the OSA begins to review the applicaton.
Fall students will be notified in late February, once the Newcomb-Tulane Study Abroad Committee meets to make final decisions. Students will be notified of the committee's decision immediately thereafter by email.
Spring applicants will be notifed in early October of the committee's decision.
* A.B. Freeman School of Business Students
Students in the Freeman School of Business should consult with Ms. Janice Hughes, Director of International Programs, before applying to a Tulane Study Abroad Program. The Business School maintains its own portfolio of study abroad programs for which its students may earn major or minor credit towards the business degree.
* Tulane School of Architecture Students
Students in the Tulane School of Architecture must receive approval by the School of Architecture. All Architecture students should scheduling an advising appointment with the director of study abroad and the associate dean of architecture prior to application. Architecture students should review the architecture programs listed on the programs page.
