Change of Address

Notifying USCIS of a Change of Address

Welcome to the on line address reporting form for members of the Tulane International community.
U.S. law requires all aliens to report their physical home addresses to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) within 10 days of any move. How you report depends on your visa classification in the U.S.

To make sure you have complied with the regulations, find the situation that describes you below and follow the instructions for that category.

  1. I am
    • in F or J student status and
    • am enrolled full time or on OPT and
    • Tulane issued my I-20 or DS-2019

You should notify OISS of your address change by using the online form below and change your address through TOUR on the Registrar’s Webpage. OISS will report your address through SEVIS, satisfying the DHS requirement. You do not need to file the Form AR- 11.

  1. I am
    • J status and
    • not a full time student and
    • Tulane issued my DS-2019.

You should notify OISS of your address change by using the online form below and notify Tulane Workforce Management Organization and your department of the address change.

OISS will report your address through SEVIS, satisfying the DHS requirement. You do not need to file the Form AR- 11.

  1. I am
    • in F or J status and
    • Another institution (not Tulane) issued my I-20 or DS-2019.

Tulane cannot report your address to DHS for you.

You must contact the school or program that issued your document for instructions on address reporting. You are responsible for making timely address reports to that school or program and for maintaining the required J insurance as instructed by that program, as applicable.

You should, however, notify OISS of your address change by using the online form below, so we can update your records here. If you are a student, you should change your address through TOUR on the Registrar’s Webpage, and if you are a scholar, notify Tulane Workforce Management Organization and your department of the address change.

  1. I am
    • in H1B, H4, or TN  visa status and
    • not a citizen of the United States.

You must file Form AR-11 with DHS. Remember that if you are in "Special Registration" (NSEER) you should fill out the AR-11SR form.

You should notify OISS of your address change by using the online form above and notify Tulane Workforce Management Organization and your department of the address change.

Tips for Filing the AR-11 and Other Address Reporting Reminders.

  • You must complete and mail the form yourself. Tulane cannot mail it for you. Each adult in the family must file a separate form. Parents must file a form for each child. It is OK to put all of the forms for your family into one envelope and mail them together.
  • You can now fill out the AR-11 online. The AR-11SR must still be mailed.
  • To have evidence of proper filing, use Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested, Priority Mail, Express Mail, or some other delivery tracking or confirmation method. Be sure to follow the mailing instructions on the USCIS web site. For information on United States Postal Service (USPS) mailing options, visit the USPS web site. Click on “Track and Confirm” to learn about ways to confirm delivery.
  • IMPORTANT: Reporting your address using the Form AR-11 and/or this on-line Address Report Form only meets your reporting obligation. It does not change your address on any forms already filed with USCIS or with the OISS. For your convenience, both USCIC and OISS allow you to have things mailed to an address that is different from your physical residence address. If you want your address changed for a specific document, you must request a change for that particular document through a different process.
